On launching my 5-track debut EP “It’s yours.” Friday 18 March 2022, my belief became stronger than ever that we each bring our own unique potential into this world - with every moment of our lives being an expression of limitless possibility. Feedback I’ve received from listeners has been deeply enriching across every level, and I’ve come away more inspired than ever to continue creating in alignment with my deepest artistic purpose: To help people rediscover themselves, nurturing peace and inspiration from within, and to (re)create in loving authenticity with every breath.

“Savouring Today”

EP track #1 lyric video released Friday 2022/02/25

A template-based DIY lyric video (as all my EP tracks’ vids are) drawing on a "cinematic action trailer" selection of CGI scenes - plus some archived personal footage courtesy of my ye olde Canon digital! Heaps of fun making this, though fiddly trying to match up the lyrics' entry with this template's preset text appearance manners and timings. I like to think I keep getting better with practice though. :)

This little space-music ditty is one of the two instrumental pieces on "It's yours." - and I had so much fun making this clip! Instantly fell in love with these space scenes, the moment I laid eyes them…

“We’ll Know Nothing Together”

This lyric vid for "We'll Know Nothing Together" is basically a romp through some of my most treasured personal memories (old photos and videos across the years) whilst also spelling out my lyrical ramblings for the world to see! Up to the beholder which bit is more interesting, haha... With VERY special guest performances from my musical mentors Nicholas Albanis of Dandelion Wine (on guitars) and Emily Saaen of VSA (on keys). Thank you so much, legends! <3

“Double Flat”

Friday the 13th couldn't get much luckier, with DIY music video for my EP's fourth track "Double Flat" launching onto YouTube! This clip might even be my favourite one yet. Still totally in love with the sci-fi CGI template scenes and pseudo-storyline I managed to build from them for this! These projects are just SO MUCH FUN…

“I Reach”

EP track #5 lyric video released Tuesday 2022/06/21

In celebration of the solstice, at precisely 1913hrs AEST on Tuesday 21 June, DIY music video #5 (to be my final one for awhile!) went live. Woohoo! This one’s a lyric clip (handy for those wondering what on Earth I’m saying at various points in the song!) for “I Reach” which is the closing track from “It’s yours.” I think it makes a fitting conclusion to my EP’s five-track DIY music video series… And I love how vibrant and engaging all its CGI-template nature scenes are!

There’s also a number of other video clips available in my ever-growing YouTube uploads library, with music videos in particular all going into the Genevieve Sovereign music video playlist HERE as they’re released.

“Gen’s music evokes something in my soul. 'I Reach' sent shivers down my spine. When the flute came in, there were unexpected happy tears. I love the heaviness and depth of the electronics contrasted with the soaring uplifting light vocals and flute. Her melodies are catchy and memorable and oddly bring me back to a happy time in my childhood - perhaps it’s the elements of Enya in her music reminding me of long car journeys in Ireland in the 90’s along with Genevieve’s sweet tone, bringing me straight back into a place of innocence and playfulness.”

"‘It’s yours.’ gets better with every listen. I don't normally listen much to song lyrics, but I found Gen's words refreshingly sweet and innocent. Add to this some really catchy tunes, and you have a kick-ass and pretty memorable album. I particularly liked the ballsy drum and Japanese-ey feel to ‘Double Flat’ as well as the hint of Mogli's album ‘Wanderer’ (from Expedition Happiness) on a couple of tracks. I am astounded at how quickly ‘It's yours.’ kind of came out of nowhere and am really looking to see how Gen's song writing skills develop over time. She is certainly off to a pretty amazing start with this debut EP!”
