Gen’s Singles Thus Far
“MIDDAY BLUE”
I’m stoked-as to share that my newest single “Midday Blue” has now entered our big wide world, as of Friday 1 September 2023! Paring back from the complex instrumental arrangements of my other recent releases, this latest electronic-acoustic hybrid underscores the expressiveness of voice and lyric – whilst also highlighting the remarkable nuance that accomplished musicians can convey, through their chosen instruments of expression.
Inspired by growing-up amid majestic rolling forests in northwestern Ontario, Canada and subsequently moving southward to the dusty open expansiveness of Australia, “Midday Blue” juxtaposes that soul-soothing brilliance of endless skies which exist anywhere in the world we choose to seek them.
Beyond my presence in it as songwriter-composer-vocalist, “Midday Blue” showcases beautiful guest performances from Paul Wyer / Ventry (guitar) and Emily Saaen (piano). With its finishing mix+master polish subsequently applied by returning multi-genre audio engineer Deece at Omni-hieroglyphic – who first began working with me on previous release “Present Dreams (feat. Ben Tenison)” – this resulting new track invites listeners into a fresh territory of electronic-acoustic exploration.
Really feels like this new single is a benchmark of the continued artistic growth I’ve been pursuing since 2022’s genre-melding “It’s yours.” EP, as well as my EDM / dream-pop collab series with composer-producer Ben Tenison which enjoyed generous coverage levels across the blogosphere, social media and internet radio – in addition to community radio airplay here within Australia (THANK YOU!!!).
I hope you all enjoy this latest offering. And if you’re feeling particularly kind, please connect and/or throw a follow on any of the platforms we might have in common per:

“Present Dreams (feat. Ben Tenison)”
“Present Dreams” is third in the ongoing series of electronic / dream-pop singles I’ve co-created with composer-producer Ben Tenison (Roxley) – this time excitingly adding a new team member: Seasoned multi-genre audio engineer Deece.
Deep-diving into the subconscious straight from its outset, “Present Dreams” is anchored by Ben’s intricate rhythms and instrumental flourishes, with arrangement elements and textures brought to full potential through Deece’s mixing expertise – all powering the lyrics to glide free on a quest for truth and expansion into the unknown… Or at least, that was my grand vision!
I’m further delighted to share that, following suit with my last two releases, “Present Dreams” has also enjoyed community radio airplay here in Australia - and was featured in the Melbourne Music NOW: May 2023 lineup, yay!
I’ve had another lovely interview with Indie Music Discovery too (who I previously chatted about my EP with last year) touching on some of the processes, etc behind “Present Dreams” and other upcoming plans / sundries. :)
